Choose From Multiple Powertrains and Hybrid Technologies
The 2022 Escape has a choice of hybrid or plug-in hybrid* with a 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle I-4 hybrid engine. A 1.5L EcoBoost® and the 2.0L EcoBoost with Auto Start-Stop Technology are the available gas engines.

Selectable Drive Modes
Designed to help improve your driving experience and handling on varying road surfaces. The different modes are Eco, Sport, Normal, Slippery and Deep Snow/Sand. Once selected, each one of these driving modes can modify the electronic stability control and traction control systems without further input from you.

It's a big world out there. Escape lets you hit the road and explore it with your choice of three different engines. To help keep you in control, there's also the available All-Wheel Drive with AWD Disconnect and standard Selectable Drive Modes. AWD not available on Escape Plug-in Hybrid.
Towing Capability
When equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package, Escape Titanium and SEL with the available 2.0L EcoBoost® engine have a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. and Escape Hybrid or Escape Plug-in Hybrid* with the 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine have a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 lbs. The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® engine, when properly equipped, can tow up to 2,000 lbs. **
